Beyond individual components
A system is more than the sum of its parts.
Many electronics projects stall not on a single component but on the step between them: a circuit board, a cable harness, connectors, a power supply and an enclosure that each work on their own, but still have to become one reliable system.
Belko has been working with connectors, cable and assemblies for a long time. We bring that component knowledge into the integration question, and we coordinate the specialist partners who carry out the assembly.

Box building explained
Box building is not PCB assembly.
PCB assembly places components on a circuit board. Box building starts where that ends: it brings the finished boards together with everything around them into a closed, working unit.

What goes into a system
Seven component families, one integrated build.
An integrated system brings together parts from very different disciplines. Belko knows many of them from its own range and helps align the rest.
PCBAs
Populated circuit boards — the electronic heart of the system, supplied by you or sourced through partners.
Cable harnesses
Wiring that connects boards, power and I/O inside the enclosure, routed and secured for the build.
Connectors
Panel and board connectors for power, signal and data — matched to current, environment and mating cycles.
Enclosures
The housing that protects the electronics and carries the connectors, glands and mounting points.
Power supplies
Power supplies and converters, selected for the load, the input and the space available.
Sensors
Sensors and measurement components that connect the system to the world around it.
Mechanical parts
Brackets, mounting plates, fasteners, grommets and seals that hold everything in place.

Belko’s role
Your technical coordinator, not another supplier.
Belko does not assemble systems in-house. We combine component expertise with coordination of selected specialist partners, so you have one technical contact for the whole integration project.
- 01
Technical consultation & component expertise
We review your requirements and drawings and bring practical knowledge of connectors, cable and assemblies to the design.
- 02
Component selection & sourcing support
We help select the right parts, propose alternatives where availability is a concern and consolidate sourcing.
- 03
Coordination of specialist partners
We align the build with specialist manufacturing and system integration partners and keep the project on one line.

Questions
Box building — frequently asked
What is box build assembly?
Box build assembly — also called system integration or electromechanical assembly — is the integration of circuit boards, cable harnesses, connectors, power supplies, sensors and mechanical parts into a complete, enclosed electronic system.
Does Belko carry out the assembly itself?
No. Belko provides technical consultation, component selection and sourcing support, and coordinates specialist manufacturing and system integration partners who carry out the physical assembly. You keep one point of contact at Belko.
How is box building different from PCB assembly?
PCB assembly produces a populated circuit board. Box building starts from those boards and integrates them with harnesses, connectors, power supplies and mechanical parts into a closed, working unit.
What do you need from us to get started?
Whatever you already have: a description of the application, drawings, a bill of materials, existing part numbers or an earlier version of the product. A complete specification is not required for a first conversation.
Can we supply our own PCBAs or components?
Yes. Customer-supplied boards and parts can be part of the project. Belko then aligns them with the other components and with the partner who carries out the integration.
Which production volumes are possible?
That depends on the system and the partner best suited to it. Tell us the expected volume in your request — from prototypes to series — and we will discuss what is realistic for your project.
How are our drawings and documents handled?
Files sent with the project request are stored privately and are only accessible to Belko staff. They are shared with a partner only when that is needed for your project.
