2.2-5 surge suppressor f-f with gas discharge arrester, 3.8 GHz and 230 V. This is a bulkhead type with IP67 and an exchangeable gas discharge arrester.
The gas discharge tube type suppressor discharges high voltage surges from the centre conductor via the outer conductor to ground. When a defined voltage on the centre conductor of the coaxial line is exceeded, the gas discharge tube between the inner and outer conductor fires and shorts them.
